the latest haul

February 11, 2009

the only good thing about having a car is that it makes grocery shopping sooo much easier! today we stopped by trader joe’s and the library to pick up some books i put on hold last week. i heart the library!

having so many munchies to snack on is definitely going to be an exercise in self control. hopefully i won’t go snack happy.  i got the pb puffins this time 🙂

i’m really excited about my library haul. i was on the waitlist for veganomicon and the candle cafe cookbook for about a week (not too bad) and i got the email to pick them up last night. i couldn’t wait! the librarian said i was “very ambitious.” 🙂

and back to the eats. i took a bite out of the cashew cookie lara bar as soon as i got in the car. i have a tendency to open up new stuff before we even get home…i’ve been holding back lately because i don’t want there to be half eaten things in my grocery pics…haha

the stuffed cabbages turned out yummy! i’m excited to eat the leftovers. i used this recipe from foodtv, but substituted brown rice and ground turkey instead of pork. we had potato and carrot hash “pancakes” on the side.

i plan on snacking on an orange later on. we have to finish watching nick and norah’s infinite playlist so we can return it to redbox. hope everyone is enjoying their day…it was GORGEOUS outside. i’m SO excited for spring!

Wow your stuffed cabbage looks yummy! As do the “pancakes.” Russian stuffed cabbage is also stuffed with ground meat and rice and if you look back at older entries on my blog you’ll see I also substituted lean ground turkey and brown rice- we think alike 🙂 Is the polish one also cooked in a tomato-based broth base?
