grocery shop + pizza night

February 21, 2009

when did i get so boring, that grocery shopping is a fun way to spend a friday night? really, i was looking forward to stop and shop all day! ๐Ÿ˜€

i think i’m fully stocked on fresh produce for a few days! i got beets, which i’m really excited to cook, once i figure out how. and endive so i can make cute little fancy lookin’ salads…haha ๐Ÿ™‚

while we were out, we also stopped byย building 19, the “humble department store.”ย the store is run down and a little intimidating but i love digging through places like that! here’s what i came out with…

not bad, right? i need to stop by more often! this is a very flattering pic of the store:

and finally dinner- we made it a pizza night and made our own using store bought dough. i had a whole wheat pizza topped with jalapeno and pineapple. the spicy and sweet make a really yummy combo- try it!

before going in the oven (don’t worry i sprinkled more cheese on it!)

and plated with some arugula which i ended up placing on top of the pizza. only half is pictured but i ate the whole thing ๐Ÿ˜€ i used about 1/3 of the dough, so i made some mini pizzas to freeze as well. yay for instant lunches ๐Ÿ˜€

well, i think that was enough excitement for a friday night…good night!

I am in love with that gingerbread tea. It’s awesome that you found it on sale because usually it’s completely off the shelves by this time of year!!
