salad and a sundae
i skipped breakfast today and just ate my lunch a little earlier than usual.
i had a colorful salad with romaine, carrots, cukes, green beans, tomato, red cabbage, strawberries and gorgonzola cheese.
i also had half a baked potato on the side.
later in the afternoon, i had a hot fudge sundae…
in the form of a pop tart! i wish i could say it was too sugary and gross…but nope, i enjoyed every bite of it 🙂 pop tarts were one of my favorite snacks in college, i’d always get strawberry frosted pop tarts from the vending machine in the communication building. i still wonder why i didn’t think to pack my own snacks…oh well 😦
oh, and i have two things in my inbox to share:
have you guys ever used restaurant.com gift certificates? they’re having a promotion right now where you can get them for 80% off/ $25 for $2! there are some restrictions with the use (usually it’s dinner only, 2 entrees or $35 minimum purchase) but it’s a really great deal. i’ve purchased them before but let them expire before using them (you get a full year- i just forgot!) but i’ve heard nothing but good things from people who have used them (the most important to me being that they are not a hassle to use, and the waiter will not give you a dirty look!) anyways, the coupon code is “dine” at checkout, and it expires at the end of this month. it’s worth checking out if you like to dine out- and they have a lot of great restaurants that participate in boston, so the same is probably true for other cities.
secondly, boston restaurant week is coming up! YAY! there are a lot of critics of restaurant week, but i personally LOVE it. considering i’ve lived in boston for quite a few years, i’ve had my share of good and bad restaurant week meals, but one of the best was dinner at sibling rivalry– so check that one out. this year some restaurants are offering two course lunches (you choose app or dessert) for only $15 which means i will definitely be begging tom to take me to a few different spots. SO EXCITED!
