honey chobani love

March 10, 2009

i had dinner super early today- i was going to blame it on the time change but i guess that doesn’t really make sense…i had a bean and cheese burrito with jalepeno and a super juicy pear.

melty cheese…mmm 🙂

i didn’t end up getting the humidifier- got caught up with wii sports again. haha 🙂 i practiced my baseball swing, and did some boxing too 🙂 i really want to try yoga on wii fit, but i’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it in stock. boo!

i went to stop & shop hoping to pick up some oikos yogurt but i don’t think my local store carries it. weird. i’ll have to search for it this weekend- does whole foods have it? the shop wasn’t a total disappointment though because while i was searching, i noticed two “new product” tags in the chobani section. the first “new product” is the honey flavor, which might have been around for a while, but i’ve never seen it before. the second tag was labeled as chobani pineapple, but they didn’t have any on the shelf…

i snatched up a couple of the honey and tried one as soon as i got home! i thought this would have layer of honey on the top, or bottom like the fruity chobanis so i gave it a stir…nothing happened, the honey flavor is mixed in and is very mild. although i was a little disappointed that i couldn’t actually taste honey, i really appreciated the subtle sweetness of the flavor! i find the vanilla flavor (which has added sugar) just a little too sweet, so the honey was just perfect and doesn’t mask any of the yummy tanginess of greek yogurt. the one negative is that since honey has more calories than sugar, this one has the most calories out of all the nonfat chobani flavors at 150 calories. i usually stick to plain yogurt anyway but if i’m in the mood for something sweeter, this flavor will probably be my go-to especially since the benefits of honey outweight a few extra calories 🙂

yum yum, i ate a few spoonfuls by itself, but of course i had to make myself a “real” bowl with sliced strawberries and honey toasted heart to heart 🙂

my sore throat is acting up again, so i’m sipping on some honey tea in hopes that i can soothe it before going to bed. i’m so tired of feeling sick on and off, i wish it would just do it’s thing and go away…it seems like a lot of people are suffering from this long lingering bug though so i’ll just have to bear with it a big longer as well 😦

Ugh this damn freaking sickness. I’m sorry it’s being a pain in your ass too- you’ve had it longer than me 😦

As for Barney butter, you should come over after one of our cooking classes and give it a try 🙂
