lunch: half dry grilled cheese sandwich. the apple slices, carrots sticks and hummus were shared with tommy.
and two pieces of dried fruit
yesterday on my walk home from the commuter rail station i noticed that my favorite ice cream shop, black cow, is open again! they close for the cold months and tom and i have been doing a slow drive by for weeks hoping for the open sign to be on.
this place seriously has the BEST ice cream ever, it’s made fresh daily (in their larger millis location) and they have a great selection of both ice cream and froyo on their regular menu. i’m really really obsessed with their “special” flavors, they switch them up daily though so it’s hard to fall in love with one because it probably won’t be there again the next time i go back. anyway, long story short. you’ll be seeing a lot of black cow ice cream from now on! today i had a kiddie sized macaroon.
for dinner, i was planning on having an egg scramble but changed my mind because i was too lazy to wash the nonstick pan (sad, i know). i heated some leftover brown rice instead and had that topped with some meat sauce and steamed broccoli on the side. simple but yummy.
i think i did alright with the whole getting back on track and healthy eating thing today…minus the ice cream of course but i’m happy with baby steps for now. i think the next week will be pretty low key, so i should be back to eating all my meals at home again. if i’m feeling ambitious tomorrow i may plan a menu out for the whole week.
