greek to me

April 16, 2009

i followed the instructions on my carnation instant breakfast packet to make a “soy good” drink. yum

melinda and i had lunch together today. we used to live close to each other when we were both in boston, and now she lives close to me out here in the ‘burbs! i’m a big winter hibernate-r so there was no socializing going on for the past few months, but hopefully now that it’s warmer, there will be more lunches! we decided we wanted to try out a new place today but the restaurant we had originally planned on going to closed for lunch at 2 (isn’t that kind of early?) so we tried out a different new place. haha this one was not a winner, but it was a humorous dining experience none the less. we ate at dolphin seafood in natick center, and let’s just say it seemed like THE place to dine for the 65+ crowd. we overheard conversations about early bird specials and dialysis. nice…

anyway, the good thing about this place was that it had great lunch menu prices…

i ordered a greek salad with grilled salmon and melinda got blackened catfish…the salad was a little limp, but i can’t hate anything that’s covered in feta. the fish wasn’t bad though, i’d probably order take-out from them for those prices.

upclose and personal with the fishie:

i resisted the bread at the restaurant, but did have a couple samples of falafel chips at the market afterwards.

haha blurry picture cus i tried to be quick about it 🙂 these really tasted like falafel! so good! unfortunately, i promised myself ONLY produce on this trip so i didn’t get it, but i might have to go back for a bag.
