nyc recap pt.4: soho & times square
after a fun lunch at peanut butter & co, i walked further down to soho to check out the rock & hall of fame annex…it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re into music (and who isn’t!)
after the museum, i did some strolling ’round the neighborhood and came across this line:
i don’t know about you, but if i see a line for cupcakes, i go stand in it- no explanation necessary!
look at how cute these are! she’s not kidding about them being miniature though! one bite each, for a dollar each! crazy new york prices, but still super delicious! i had the red velvet, tie-dye n pb cup!
we wandered into nolita, and while we were in the neighborhood, i absolutely had to stop by cafe habana. this is one of my favorite eateries ever! they have a dine-in restaurant and a take-out counter. both are always so crowded!
i wasn’t very hungry, but i made room for their famous mexican grilled corn.
have you ever had mexican corn? it’s sooo good! the white stuff is cotija- an aged mexican cheese.
i laughed when i reviewed the pics and saw this going on behind me:
food bloggers…or are they just being asian?:D
after walking around a bit more, i hopped on the subway back to the hotel for a quick rest before heading to times square.
i had a fruit leather while walking around….
we got sick of times square quick, so i did some window shopping on fifth avenue and we hit up all the touristy spots on the way back to our hotel.
i was too tired for a “real” dinner…but i was craving yogurt, so i grapped this kefir yogurt at a health food store (there were so many little health food shops everywhere- i was very jealous!)
this stuff was so weird. it tasted nothing like the kefir that you drink…it was really mild- kinda like a creamy brie or something…
creepy color too, right? i think i’d try it again, but i was hoping for something really tangy- so i only ate about a third. no big deal, i was more interested in getting to bed to rest up for our last day in the city.
