farm fresh!

July 18, 2009

happy saturday!

how are you spending your day? i spent mine at the pool for most of the afternoon. the weather is nice n’ hot and i’m just loving it!

before i get to the food, i wanna show you my farmer market buys: green beans, a ginormous cucumber, zucchini and kale. a very green haul šŸ™‚ i wish i could buy more but our local farmers market is really small and kinda pricey. i live very close to a couple farmstands and pick your own farms…so i need to check those out next time.

okay and on to my meals…yesterday’s breakfast: chobani and high fiber cereal.

lunch: a romaine salad topped with celery, cucumber, carrots, broccoli and a boiled egg. for my fellow koreans…doesn’t this look like a bowl of naeng myun? ahh i could go for some right now- especially in this heat!

i topped it with ed&bv’s peanut passion sauce and cilantro. yum-my!

it was super hot and humid and i wanted a simple dinner. sweet potato fries to the rescue!

for dessert i had a frozen yoplait whips. as much as i love greek yogurt and plain yogurt, these yoplait whips are still one of my guilty pleasures…i figure if any kind of yogurt is a guilty pleasure then i’m not doing too bad…right?

this morning before heading out to the farmers market, i had the last of my chobani with frozen blueberries, more high fiber twigs and some dark chocolate. the frozen blueberries make each bite nice and cold!

here it is all mixed up and lookin’ sexy:

i went to the farmers market, the supermarket, and then hung out by the pool. i actually went in today so i need to go wash the chlorine out now before going to the movies. we’re watching harry potter…which *gasp* i’m not excited about. i tried reading a few chapters of the first book and wasn’t into it…and i’ve never watched any of the previous movies…so i hope i can still enjoy it!

catch ya later alligators!

Harry Potter gets SO much better after the first book, I promise!!
That yogurt looks like pudding, it’s so thick and creamy looking.
I hope you still enjoy the film, but I would say give the books another try! šŸ™‚

Laying by the pool on a hot day is just simple but heavenly enjoyment!

I adore farmers markets and just try to be ok with the prices b/c I know the money is going to support my local farmers. I like that. šŸ™‚
