red velvet takes the cake

July 23, 2009

now here’s a question…

can it ever be a bad day when it ends with a lil’ of this?

i mean, my day wasn’t bad to begin with…but i’m just saying…red velvet cake makes it that much better!

the rest of my meals were good but not quite as exciting.

i had a smoothie for breakfast…strawberries, frozen blueberries, banana, splash of soy milk and lots of ice.

lunch was the usual i’m feeling lazy special: peanut butter sandwich and a nectarine.

and although dinner doesn’t look so pretty, it was tasty.

we had slow cooked pork tenderloin and green beans. i put an organic (yay) pork tenderloin in the slow cooker, poured in a honey mustard sauce and cooked on low for about 7 hours and dropped some fresh green beans in for the last hour of cooking.

and after dinner the sweet tooth kicked in. i was craving both chocolate and carrot cake (mostly for the cream cheese frosting) so red velvet cake was the perfect solution!

The red velvet cake sounds great! I generally don’t think the cake part is all that special. But I adore the cream cheese frosting – at least the red velvet cakes I’ve eaten have had cream cheese frosting.

Red velvet cake is my favorite cake in the whole world! That looks like a good slice, too 🙂 Good for you.
