accountability

October 12, 2009

yay! i’m glad to be back to food logging. it was nice taking a mini break from snapping all my meals, but i also learned that bad things can happen when i’m not kept accountable! okay, okay it wasn’t horrible…but i did eat a few more slices of pizza and brownies than i’d like to admit 😛 i haven’t weighed myself– but my clothes still fit the same so it’s not really the weight that i’m concerned about. what i’m most upset about is my skin…it’s been breaking out like crazy and i know it’s because of bad eating- especially all the sugar i’ve been eating. i’ve developed quite the sugar addiction lately. ugh.

anyways…here’s to a fresh start…with the emphasis on fresh!

i started the day with some juice. i brought back a jack lalanne power juicer circa 1800 from my parent’s house. it’s old, but it does the job!

for lunch, i had a salmon salad. the salmon was doggy bagged from dinner out last night. it had an asian marinade and it went so well with the trader joe’s cilantro & chive yogurt dip as my dressing. i saw this dip on maria’s blog and i had to go out and buy it the next day! it rocks! and it gets me excited to be eating salads again…which is a very good thing.

moment of weakness: handful of chocolate & pb chips…oops

a much better snack: a honeycrisp apple and some almond butter

for dinner, i had a sandwich with mashed banana and sliced strawberries.

i think the consensus around the blog world is that the nature’s pride 12 grain bread is delicious and i have to agree! i thought the whole wheat was airier than i prefer but the 12 grain is nice and hearty. i love how you can taste all the grains and seeds in it. thanks foodbuzz!

i haven’t eaten my yogurt cup yet…but it’s a new find that i’m a huge fan of. i bought a four pack of these little cups of brown cow greek yogurt. i prefer plain greek yogurt in the morning…but i’ve been eating these for dessert. they taste good and are nice and thick. not surprising since brown cow makes some good yogurts…have you ever tried their cream top kind? those are a real treat.

Basically, I can’t get any of the products you mentioned in my neck of the woods (booooo) But I’ll enjoy living vicariously through you. Funny you mention that Jack Lalanne juicer. My friend wants one sooo bad. I watched an add for it on youtube and looks mighty powerful!

Glad you are back to photo snapping all of your meals. 😉
